Do I have to be Lutheran to attend St. Paul? 
No, we have students of various denominations at St. Paul.

What grade levels do you offer?
St. Paul starts with 3 year old preschool and goes all the way through 8th grade.

What time does school start and end?
The school day starts at 8:30 and ends at 3:15.

Do you offer child care before or after school?
We offer extended care services for children enrolled at St. Paul starting at 6:30 am before school, and ending at 5:30pm after school.

Is St. Paul accredited?
Yes, St. Paul is accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Association, the Illinois State Board of Education, and is recognized the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
 
Are you teachers certified?
Yes, all of our teachers are certified in the State of Illinois.  All of our teachers hold at a minimum a Bachelors degree, and several of them have Masters Degrees.  All of our teachers have at least 10 years of teaching experience, and several have over 30 years of teaching experience!

What is your curriculum like?
The curriculum at St. Paul meets or exceeds that required for the National Lutheran Schools Association. These requirements exceed Illinois Standards in reading, math, science, language arts, physical education and art.

How much of the curriculum includes Christian education? 
Students have religion class daily.  Additionally, the student body gathers once a week for chapel service.  The benefit of a Christian education is that conversations about God occur openly, and secular subject matter is taught from a Christian perspective

How do your students do on standardized tests?
St. Paul uses the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.  St. Paul consistently ranks in the top 10% of compared to other schools utilizing this test.  Our 2010 & 2009 results are posted under the "Academics" tab.

How do St. Paul students fare in high-school and beyond? 
Even though it is difficult to produce a statistic from hard data, our students have traditionally not only succeeded, but excelled in high-school and college.  Many St. Paul alumni enjoy careers as doctors, attorneys, engineers, tradesmen, educators, and church leaders.  We have several St. Paul alumni on our current staff!

What kind of extra-curricular programs do you have?
In addition to the spiritual and emotional development of our students, St. Paul also believes in the physical development as well. We offer a competitive athletics program for both boys and girls in 5th-8th grade. We also offer band, choir, musicals, and student council.

What payment options are available?
Payments for the school year may be paid in full; a $50 discount is applied per family. 

Monthly payments can be set up with Tuition Management Systems for 10 monthly payments with an option of automatic withdrawal from a checking account.  A $ 60 fee for this service needs to be paid during enrollment.  Tuition Management Systems also accepts credit cards, but does assess a small fee.

Is tuition-assistance available? 

Yes.  Additional information can be obtained from the school office. We do believe that the primary responsibility for funding a student’s education rests with the student’s family.  Financial assistance is distributed to qualified families based upon need.  Matters of financial aid are handled with strict confidentiality.
