St. Paul School offers a variety of programs including preschool classes, childcare for children ages three to four and full-day kindergarten classes -- all in a Christ-centered learning environment.
Preschool, Step-up to Kindergarten, and Full Day Kindergarten
At St. Paul, full day kindergarten is offered in addition to before and after school extended care. Preschool is available for three-year olds on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Morning and afternoon sessions are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's for four-year olds. St. Paul additionally offers a Step-Up to Kindergarten class. This program is designed to cater to older four year olds and is offered Monday through Friday afternoons. St. Paul preschool classes provide hands-on activities and learning centers which enhance the theme-based curriculum. Through theme units that are primarliy science and social studies related topics, reading and math readiness skills are presented in an enriching and developmentally appropriate learning experience. The four year old classes are designed as kindergarten readiness programs with a greater emphasis on letters, sounds, writing and numbers.
Full Day Kindergarten Curriculum
Our full day Kindergarten curriculum includes Religion, Reading and Writing Literacy, Mathematics and Handwriting. Science, Social Studies, Listening, Music and Art are integrated into the weekly activities. For more detailed curriculum information on each subject, please see the Full Day Kindergarten Information Sheet. In addition to core subject matter, discovery time is utilized throughout the day to enhance student interaction. During this time, students choose centers according to their interest such as blocks, dramatic play, art, computer, manipulatives, library and learning centers (reading, math, science). Our facility does feature an outdoor playground and full gymnasium allowing for recreation during the school day.
